My guest this week is a man I met seven years ago, in the early stages of my adult career. I remember our first-hand shake. I was on a black couch sitting closest to the sliding glass door in a one-story house belonging to, producer, Jeff Coldwater, from Rookie Nookie amongst other Box cover studios. Interestingly enough, while writing this first paragraph, I took a moment to google what else Jeff Coldwater directed for, and the first thing to show up on my google feed is Rookie Nookie’s reviews of over 4495 minutes of the series. Two of the most frequent performers seen in a number of ColdWater’s films were low and behold, 2 of my very good friends in the industry and former guests of The Hankie Pankie podcast, Sable Renae and Erica Lauren.
Arriving on set to shoot a scene normally follows similar protocol, from director greeting, to hello to the talent you are working with. Next comes the pretty girl photos, the positions to include, and the always highly anticipated finish that brings the director to call, “that’s a wrap.”
Here I am 7 years later, and that male talent is now one of my best friends and one of the most well-respected men I have had the privilege to enter my life, and I owe him, extra special thanks for being my guide in the industry as I navigated my way through unknown territory.
For those of you who may remember my interview with male performer Dick Chibbles, followed by my article about Dick, I spoke about what a good friendship we had developed and how we spent quite a bit of time together. As I look back on it, I guess our conversations were more on a surface level. It was when he came over and sat with me in my home studio and shared his life story, I realized that I may not know people as well as I think I do.
Ok so where am I going with this? WAIT FOR IT! Jay and I have also spent quite a bit of time together, not only working in a variety of different scenes, but also we spend a lot of time together at the AVN Award show in Vegas each year. Most recently, Jay has been by my side as my director and camera operator for my documentary.
You would think that I would know the basic history regarding when Jay became involved in the adult industry, how long ago and how it all began, right? Well, not exactly true, as we never talked about work, when we were not working.
A year after releasing my podcast, I finally was able to nail Jay down to be a guest and share his story. From his family life to his crazy quest across the Canadian borders to see the Olympic games live, only to realize. the Olympics were on the other side of the Canada. Concluding that story with the Canadian border patrol, detaining Jay’s and his friends with a very stern warning that they were never allowed to cross from the US borders back into Canada. As I wondered if he has since then tried to go to Canada, he dropped a-bomb on me that took me head on a whirlwind.
Jay was a camera guy first, working for the same Producer as one of the camera operators on various pornography sets. However, Jay was not just working behind the scenes, he was also for 8 years, the stunt cock for a very well known make talent, who sometimes had a difficult time making it to the finish line.
After 8 years, as camera crew and stunt cock, not showing his face to the public, he finally took the step to own his place in the industry and introduced Jay Crew, face and cock to the public.
Ready for my reaction?
I had no idea his career in the industry began behind the scenes as camera and cock operator. HOWEVER, my reaction to this information, PRICELESS!!
” Jay, when you finally chose to bare all, sorry, I had to play on words there again , did fans not begin to wonder, wait a moment, that cock looks awfully similar to another very famous performer, how is this possible? Jay’s response, Coralyn, are you saying you could recognize my cock in a scene without my face? Jay, you have the most recognizable Tool in the Shed! Everyone who watches porn knows when Jay Crew is about to work his magic . We both laughed as he knows that he was blessed with something very special, and anyone who knows me well, a compliment like that from me is priceless.
As I wind down today’s entry, I ask my listeners and readers one simple question: would you be able to pick out your partner’s “Sherlock Holmes” from a line up of 20 men, by seeing nothing but their “MEMBER”? The reason I ask, is because, I may not have known any of this about Jay’s history and how his career began, but I promise that you could like up 1000 men, and I could tell you which one is the crown Jewel. ( I am full or these today)
I will end on this not, which ironically works in this case as well. I often revert back to shows that seem to have the same message; we can’t just assume that we know someone without truly knowing the back end of their story.
. In Jay’s case, however, we ALL know the front end!
( I am killing myself over here)
I had to do it.
Till next time.
I end with something different
Live a little, laugh a lot
It’s food for the soul
